Day two

Weather in the morning was not the best possible. Wind was strong 11020K and the sky was partly dark. The rain area was just about to reach us. It blocked our way to west but east, where the fuel was, seemed to stay open for a while.

So four planes of us this time.

Three Ikarus with pilots:

  • Jerry Morelius
  • Heikki Kari with his spouse
  • Ville Levelä (me) win Manne Stenroos

One Cora Allegro

  • Eero Loitokari

After a good breakfast we took off not a minute too early. Purpose was to visit Isle and lighthouse of “Haapasaari”. However the it was covered with rain. We decided to fly direct to Klamila near Vironlahti 13,8 km from the Russian border. Landing needed us some careful thinking preciseness . The bay and marina to go was effected by direct headwind which had gained a respective speeds. The prior sunshine and the wing generated a lively final over the village to the bay.

All four planes landed nicely but the tricky parts was to taxi downwind to the reasonably small marina. You know if your ease the throttle the wind turns your nose to headwind. Turning around to downwind needs space and a strong usage of throttle.

After some interesting attempts we all had parked and tied the planes in different places of marina. It did not take long time further when the winds reached 24 w/s. That was really something.

The friendly little harbor had nice and super friendly people. Hello to each and every of them and warm thanks. Many places were offered us for overnight stay etc.

Now we just had to wait. Our weather PC showed for the evening a bit better is about to came. So we concentrated to the place it self:

The coming Saturday a big party is planned to solemnize the 100 years existence of the local fishing club.

We were offered the best smoke eel ever tasted. Many over 5kg salmons cached by locals were exhibited. The history of the fishing era was interesting and showed how earlier men were iron and boats wood. Now in many cases it is the other way around, men are wood and boats of iron.

Our on line “radio Suomi” broadcasting brought many interested to have a look our planes. Some even told that they saw us on TV.

We had to wait the winds to calm till late evening. The storms really were one of the kinds.

At 2000 we all four planes too off a gain heading to Helsinki to pick up one German guest Heinz Korella who is making and article of PNF for “Flieger Magazine”. However again the horizon from the air did not promise a secure trip to Helsinki so we made a quick plan to return to Kaunissaari.

This time to a different beach but we stayed over in the same house as earlier. “Lisas place”. A warm and friendly landlady. 24€/ night was extremely economic. She also had an excellent gift of nature healing. We all had some pains every here and there. A word for everybody. Do not dare to be a disbliever in these things. Some persons really have the talent and are using it in a right way. I had sore shoulders. In a few seconds she put her hands on my shoulders I could feel the deep warmth and that something really happens.

After a few minutes of “treatment” I felt the blood circulation improved and so nice feeling all over the back. Eero had continuous pain on kneels. You can only imagine his face when after a long period of suffering he lost the pain first on the left knee and then the other. Jerry has a difficult dermatisis on his hands. He felt too that his hands never felt so warm and supple as now. Manne treated his back. We all became a serious believers.

What an experience.

When ever you go to Kaunissaari where everyone should pay a visit Ask “Lisas mansion”. Be modest and open minded. - Wont be disappointed. Say regards from the PNF guy’s.
